Abstract
This is an advance level course, is aimed at artists from a variety of creative disciplines who wish to expand their visual practice within a supportive and critically engaged environment. Printing techniques, which exploit the nature of the printing surface, ink, and paper expand the range of opportunities for expression and inspire printmakers to develop their own artistic world. A combination of manual skills such as drawing and carving and scientific knowledge related to the materials is essential, and acts as a powerful creative stimulus. At the same time, the course encourages the search for innovative techniques and exploration of the full potential of printmaking. You are encouraged to keep a visual diary, which reflects your personal practice, individual interests and the work of other artists. This becomes a personal journal of your development during the course.
