UiTM, College of Creative Arts (2017) EAH713 : Art as therapy / College of Creative Arts. [Teaching Resource]

Abstract

The term ‘art therapy’ was popular in the 1980's. Art therapy is thus a relative newcomer to the range of available therapeutic practices. Art therapy is relatively new discipline, outside a small number of practitioners, its concepts and aims are not widely known and understood. This course is an attempt to change that situation and hoping that through this process the students believe that there is more art than paint on paper. Specifically, this course aim to introduce the concepts of art therapy, artist as therapist, training and arts industries, high skilled, critical, reflective and ethical practitioners committed to making a substantive contribution and the community.
