Abstract
Chrysomelidae or leaf beetles are a phytophagous group of insects and one of the largest families of Coleoptera order. Chrysomelidae are the commonest pollinators for many plant families. Interests have been focused on the taxonomy of Chrysomelidae that collected in UiTM Pahang Forest Reserve and Plantation. There is no further biological study and specific documentation of Chrysomelidae species found in UiTM Pahang Forest Reserve and Plantation. The objectives of this study will provide information about the species of Chrysomelidae found in UiTM Pahang Forest Reserve and Plantation and its distribution in that area. This research was proposed to identify the species of Chrysomelidae and describing the dichotomous keys and morphological characteristics of Chrysomelidae found in UiTM Pahang Forest Reserve and Plantation as well as its distribution in the area of study. The method of hand catching is the most frequently used such as sweeping and beating methods by harvesting sample randomly in the location of study. Visual observation was conducted to describe the morphological characteristics of the particular species. The result from this study shows that there are 44 individuals captured from the sampling sites comprise of Chrysomelidae from subfamily Chrysomelinae, Bruchinae, Donaciinae, Cryptocephalinae and Eumolpinae. Each of the Chrysomelidae has their specific unique descriptions and characteristics that differentiate them from one subfamily to another subfamily. The distribution of Chrysomelidae showed that it was widely distributed mostly in UiTM Plantation compare than UiTM Pahang Forest Reserve.
