Abstract
The lecturer of the course is required to recognized a suitable community to be adopted by the course for a cohort study period. Once the community has been adopted, the lecturer is acquired to identify potential activities that can be carry out with the community. The chosen activities are expected will be able to give high impact and beneficial to the community. The degree of impact and beneficial from the activities must be able to visualized and measured latest at the end the cohort. Each of activity can divided into few phases such as surveying work, foundation work, setting up work, trial work and implementation work and will be given timeline and monitor by the lecturer. Each of phase can be assign to a group of students that registered the course in a particular semester. The progress work done by the students must be monitored and evaluated consistently throughout the semester. Students will be guided how to discover community aspiration and needs related to scientific perspective. The students will be train how generate ideas and try to fulfill community aspiration and need based on the scientific knowledge and skill. The fulfillment of each phase needs intensive involvement of student in the assigned activities with the community. These activities will facilitate the students how to educate and transfer their scientific knowledge to the community. In addition, the students will develop their soft skills such as team work, leadership and communication skills. The course may need collaboration between the faculty and communities from various disciplines and backgrounds. This includes discussions, group presentations and participation in service-learning projects. Best few groups of student will be given some reward as token appreciation for conducting the community service.
