Abstract

This course requires students to conduct research and write a dissertation based on their choice of research approaches, such as Descriptive, Art Historical, Social, Comparative, Case Study, or Experimental. In order to produce a good quality dissertation, the course will among others focus on such aspects of research as Developing a framework of research; Developing the content of a dissertation; Academic arguments, critical discourse and reflection; Outcomes of research and significance; Cross-referencing; and the Writing Process. The students are required to submit and present their research proposals in a special class in the second semester. The students may suggest supervisors but the final decision will be made by the Postgraduate Academic Committee of the faculty (JKAPS).
