TSL753 : Sociolinguistics in multicultural society / Faculty of Education

This course will focus on the relationship between language and society and the ways in which language varies according to social characteristics. There will be an emphasis on the linguistics aspects of inter-ethnic relationships in multicultural societies such as Malaysia. It will also examine language policy and language planning, the social aspects of language learning and teaching and language change, shift, decline and maintenance.
