ADE465 - Museum and Gallery in Education / Faculty of Education

This course is designed with the aim of nurturing the awareness in students of the ideology and philosophies of art gallery/museum. It also provides the understanding of the broad educational functions of the gallery/museum, including the vernacular appreciation of art and the development of lifelong approach to learning. Students will have the opportunity to observe the educational functions of art gallery/museum within a diversity of contexts and systematically investigate the plurality of goals the gallery performs within our society. At the same time, students will gain an understanding of a gallery/museum set-up for regular exhibition through first-hand experience with the program's own children’s gallery.
