Abstract
The purpose of this study was to ascertain the challenges faced by secondary music teachers during their first year of teaching music and the methods that they used to overcome the challenges. In this study, the researcher have used qualitative method such as interview to get the findings for this project. There were seven music teachers that have involved in this project as they were interview with questions regarding the challenges faced by music teachers during their first year of teaching music in secondary school, and what were the methods used by the teachers to overcome the challenges. The teachers involved were selected based on their experiences and criteria of this research project. The teachers are secondary school music teachers with more than one year of experience in teaching music in the state of Selangor.
