The understanding of cash waqf: a study on UiTM Terengganu students / Wan Ilyas Wan Ahmad Kamil

Waqf is now seen as one of the instruments that can support the ummah's economic prosperity. This may be observed in the increased development of waqf mechanisms such as cash waqf, waqf hotels, waqf shares, and waqf universities. However, this innovation must be accompanied by a greater public knowledge of waqf. This is because only through proper comprehension can society be made more conscious of waqf. As a result, this paper was carried out to determine the level of understanding on the cash waqf system which the study is done to the students of UiTM Terengganu. The research methodology employed is quantitative method. This descriptive research was carried out by collecting information from 70 respondents using a questionnaire form published via Google Form and analysing it by looking at the mean score. According to the study's findings, the students’ knowledge of the idea of waqf is high. It is hoped that the outcomes of this study would be able to assist in the future growth of waqf institutions.
