Multipurpose cuboid chair by using blockboard / Norazwanis Aida Fauzi

Furniture is a mass noun for the movable objects intended to support various human activities such as seating and sleeping. While multipurpose furniture is the furniture that has more than one function and it is to enhance efficiency in utilization of limited space. Currently, there are too much of home development in our country. In addition, the population of human in our country is increase from day to day. Perpendicularly, this will make the demand of furniture product increase. But there are some problem due to lack of space and limited of function of the furniture becomes a burden to a user to choose the suitable furniture. The objectives of this project is to design a multipurpose cuboid chair by using laminated blockboard and also to produce multipurpose chair which is adjustable and suitable for limited space. Then, to evaluate this multipurpose cuboid chair based on its characteristics which is comfortability, limited space, efficiency, adjustability, ergonomics, anthropometrics, commercialize, and price. From the survey evaluations, the data obtained was analyzed and discussed. The results show there is not significance for gender, occupation and age. It means all these factors did not affect the evaluation of the characteristics of the multipurpose cuboid chair which is comfortability, limited space, efficiency, adjustability, ergonomics, anthropometrics, commercialize, and price. Overall, this multipurpose cuboid chair was successfully produced by using laminated blockboard and also suitable for consumers with limited space living, as it is adjustable.
