Abstract

This study is conducted to assess the knowledge and awareness of halal product about food among UiTM Dungun Students. Foods that are free of pork, alcohol and other things such as blood whether it is extracted or not are prohibited to eat in Islam. Islam also has the requirements that needed to be fulfilled such as a way of slaughtering, animals’ condition must be good and the tool for slaughtering must be sharp. Research instrument for this research is questionnaire that is distributed to 120 respondents in UiTM Dungun students to collect data. Quantitative method is the methodology for this research. Moreover, the result will be analysed in the form of frequency, percentage and mean. The analysis results shows that the level of mean for questionnaire is in high level which is 4.49. At the end of this research, the researcher recommends to other researcher to further this research via questionnaire or interview. The respondents can be from all states so that the researcher can make comparison about halal based on respondents’ level of knowledge and awareness.
