ADS504 - Malaysian Economy / Faculty of Administrative Science & Policy Studies

This course explores the development of the Malaysian economy from the colonial period to the present. Government plans and polices relating to the various sectors and the economic issues and problems are discussed. The structural transformation from a primary goods producer to the present day economy rapidly evolving into a high tech sector is the key focus of the course. Government plans and policies relating to the various sectors and the attendant economic issues and problems are discussed. The ongoing integration of the Malaysian economy into the regional and world economy with special focus on the issues of globalization and the regulating international bodies will also be explored.
