Abstract
This ButterSoFa is inspired by butterfly characteristics, for example, their unique wings shape and veins. This design is to fulfill people needs as the survey that the designer conducted found that most of the nowadays single seat sofas lack variant of design. This design is also based on Scandinavian style as they have elegant and aesthetic characteristics that were favorite by the user. The purpose of this design is to provide the users with more variants of design rather than simple plain design. Next, the purpose of this design is also to implant the butterfly's uniqueness into the furniture. At the same time will allow users to appreciate nature's influence in design. It will also help them realize that even little things of nature can make great reference or ideas in everyday objects. The reason for choosing butterflies is also to attract people as most of them love butterflies because of their colorful wings and shape. The conducted survey showed that most of the users prefer Scandinavian style as they have clean, elegant and aesthetic style. The survey also suggests that the material could be improved. They also had a problem with how the design was not suitable for some activities. They also suggest taking attention to ergonomics. It is hoped that, with this design it can help to fulfill people's needs in furniture, especially a single seat sofa. It is also hoped that this design can attract more people to appreciating nature.
