Abstract
The whole world has been shocked by the news of the pandemic viruses Covid-19 that was discovered and spread in Wuhan, China. In Malaysia, The Government decided to implemented the Movement Control Order 1.0 in every state in Malaysia. Apart from that, a lot of sectors were greatly affected by it such as tourism sector, financial sector and others. Nevertheless, due to this matters Muslim communities needs an explanation and clarification from the Fatwa Council to issues a fatwa on these matters. As we all know, fatwa known as an ultimate reference to the Muslim communities to confront with such issues and because of that authentic fatwas are really important among the Muslim communities. This is because since this case is quite new in Malaysia. The Fatwa Council needs to play their role in explaining and clarifying new fatwas to the society in order to prevent any false sources. This research paper will discuss about the role of Fatwa Council during the pandemic crisis of Covid-19. The objectives of this study is to explain the concept of Fatwa Council and Maqasid Shariah, To investigate the role of fatwa council in assisting affected people upon financial cases during the crisis of Covid-19 pandemic based on Maqasid Shariah and to analyse on how Fatwa Council works in order to solve financial cases in thepost crisis of Covid-19. The method used in this study is qualitative method. The data that was obtained using qualitative methods are in the form of face-to-face interviews and interview analysis methods. During the whole process, the study decided to implement the content of analysis and found that the role of Fatwa Council helps to ease the hardship in their life. Secondly, the role of Fatwa Council in issuing the fatwas help the society understand more about the publishes (gazette) and the unofficial fatwa.
