Abstract

With the advent of new technology and the availability of many online information sources to assist patrons satisfactorily, all library employees are charged with developing competent skills in database searching and information retrieval. Objectives have shifted to a larger emphasis on the new technology, creating a greater need for faculty and staff training. Therefore, the library has assumed the responsibility for providing in-house training and development for library staff. Staff training sessions and workshops are provided between semesters throughout the academic year as well as the development of enhanced retrieval skills. The ultimate goals and objectives of the training program focus on effective training of library employees to enable them to perform their jobs of rendering information services to library users. This study was designed to determine the study of the staff development training sessions, if they should be continued as is, and how they can be improved. As a result, library staff will be more proficient and knowledgeable about the newly acquired to eliminating the dissatisfaction of library users.
