Abstract
Building maintenance is very important to make the asset or building can be use for long term benefit. For this cause, the organization of the building must make sure that the parties involve in maintenance management are qualified to do the maintenance work and they expert in maintenance field. The government sectors in Malaysia have many parties that involve in the maintenance for the government building. This is because, the different Ministries want to do the maintenance management and development by them self and this will produce problem in future. The have to refer to the professional bodies that have technical personnel. The aim of study is to investigate and analyse the scenario in the maintenance management for government building now days. To achieve the aim of this study, five objectives have been set, to determine the parties involve in managing the maintenance work in government building and the responsibility of each parties within the maintenance management. The study also identifies the tasks for maintenance work and to find the problem in managing the government building. In addition, the resulted from this study, find solution and recommendation for the problem; about maintenance management, responsible, supervision before and after construction process. This study focuses on government building in Malaysia. The methodology adopted for the study includes literature review, observation, interviews and using questionnaire survey.
