Unemployment factors among fresh graduates in public university in Malaysia: employability skills, job mismatch and salary expectation / Nur Farzana Athirah Mohd Khan and Nor Amirah Mohd Nasir

This study was conducted to determine the factors influence on unemployment among fresh graduates in public universities in Malaysia. The factors observed in this study were employability skills, job mismatch and salary expectation. In this study, the research objectives are to identify the relationship between all the factors that influence unemployment among fresh graduates in Malaysia, by utilizing simple random sampling technique and quantitative sampling method, a total of 205 respondents were given a set of questionnaires through online which is Google Forms and all questions need to be answered. Basically, the respondents are the fresh graduates from UiTM, UPM, UIA, USIM and other Universities institution in Malaysia. By using IBM SPSS Statistics 25, all the feedback and response from the respondents will be disaggregated to study the relationship between these factors with unemployment among fresh graduates in Malaysia. There is relationship between unemployment among fresh graduates with job mismatch and salary expectation. However, based on this study, there is no relationship between unemployment among fresh graduates and employability skills.
