Abstract
Oryza sativa is the second largest crucial crop in the world. In order to, increase the production every year farmers were mostly used chemical to control the diseases and pest. However, they are tended to overuse the chemical and give the negative impact to the agroecological environment, natural environment as well as to human. In addition, they were also ignoring the Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) that they need to apply because of their main focus is to increase the production. However, most of the farmers restricted to apply the GAP because of a few factors. This research had been conducted to study the factors that restricting paddy farmers to adapt GAP at PPK Kodiang, Kedah. Survey questionnaire had been used to gather inputs and feedbacks from 97 identified respondents. The result from the study show that factors examined (knowledge/resources, cost/financial and attitude/behavior) gave significant value in influencing farmers’ decision in accepting the GAP with p-value is <0.01. The result also indicates knowledge/resources factor shown the major factors of restricting GAP among the farmers. Thus, it was concluded that knowledge/resources of farmers played an important role in influencing farmers’ acceptance level of GAP in PPK Kodiang, Kedah.
