Abstract

The oil palm industry operation had cause environmental concern among society. This due to several oil palm operation activity that emit the pollutant toward the environment. Several prevention programs had been developed, however, the prevention program is more focused toward the management and not the plantation workers. This study is conducted to determine the significant relationship between awareness, knowledge and practice with the adoption of plantation worker toward environmental policy in Malaysia. Survey were conducted to determine the factor contributing adoption of plantation worker toward environmental policies at TDM Tayor Estate which located at Setiu, Terengganu, Malaysia. Based on Krejcie and Morgan (1970), out of 100 of total population, the targeted respondent is 80 people The data obtained were analyzed using reliability, correlation and multiple regression analysis. The result show that there is significant relationship between two variable which is knowledge (p = 0.000) and practice (p = 0.000) in Pearson’s Correlation analysis. Meanwhile for the awareness there is no significant relationship (p = 0.729) in Pearson’s Correlation between factor and worker adoption. The study shows that knowledge is the most dominant factor that influenced the adoption of environmental policies among worker.
