Abstract

This paper, presents finding of a study that was carried out in Mac 2011 at the Management Department of Sabah Women and Children Hospital (Hospital Wanita dan Kanak-Kanak Sabah, Kota Kinabalu) to determine the effectiveness of 5S practice in the Management Department of HWKKS in term of efficiency, reduction of error and reduction of missing file or document. 60 respondents who are employee in Management Department of HWKKS answer the questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis test were used in the analysis of data. The result suggests that 5S activity should be implementing and improve because the hypothesis are valid. There is no significant between level of understanding of 5S practice and gender. Results of analysis also show that is no significance between level of understanding of 5S practice and Units in Management Department of HWKKS.
