Abstract
This report investigates the implementation of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) practices among the staff in PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd, Sabah Operations (PCSB SBO) and how they embrace it in their daily activities at the office which then relates towards achieving excellent HSE performance. Preventing accidents and ill health caused by work is a key priority for everyone at work. As competent employees are valuable, providing HSE training to the staff helps them to ensure employees are not injured, contribute in the development of positive health and safety culture, and also to protect the health and safety of their employees as required by the law. A total of 30 respondents from three different departments were randomly selected. The researcher distributed survey questionnaire to the staff in which they filled out and also gave their views, opinions and recommendations on how to improve the on-going practices within the organization. Using qualitative analysis, the data obtained were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and converted into pie charts and percentage. From the information obtained, the main finding is that the staff is practicing good HSE practices and they do understand what are required from them in terms of embracing and the implementation of HSE culture. However, there is still room for improvement. The researcher hopes this study can give PCSB SBO some insight regarding the HSE programs they have implemented all these while and how it was received by the staff thus opening some new opportunity that they might explore.
