A study on leadership skills of project manager for a successful construction project / Mohamad Redhuan Mohamed

A construction project is consisted of a diversity of individuals and organizations which are all gathered to achieve specific task in a specific time. Therefore, leadership is an important characteristic for construction manager in managing construction project. Leadership can improve construction productivity, where its outcomes include effectiveness, satisfaction, and extra effort. The main objective of the study is to identify the influence of project manager leadership skill toward successful of construction project. A key element in the success of a company is good leadership skills of a project manager and a project can manage with less problems occur. Apart from that, interpersonal skills are also needed in order to reflect the project manager's ability to bring workers involved in a project. The study concluded that construction manager leading characteristics influence the success of the project positively, and it can be acquired through never-ending training and learning. Also, it concluded that personal factors have an important influence on the effectiveness of site manager, and the lack of manager characteristics may lead to project failure.
