Proposed new interior design scheme for Lots of Lat Cafe at No. 2, Jalan Dato Seri Ahmad Said, 31400 Greentown, Ipoh, Perak / Nooraini Norhasni

The main objective of this project is to propose a new design cafe for cartoonist Lat and to develop a design scheme that would show Lat's artwork in the interior design. It is a challenge to design a cafe which tries to explore new methods in menu and design scheme and out of the box method. This project offers a comprehensive range of facilities and spaces according to the guidelines set up by the client. A series of interviews and observation has been conducted in order to collect relevant data and information. Based on the case study and observation, it can be conclude that it is vital to create and design a cafe space which fulfills the client's requirement and adapting appropriate design concept and schemes in order to enhance the success of the design itself. Besides that, it is also essential for the cafe to be compelling and inviting because the main point of the cafe itself is to sell. Research findings of revealed that the strong and vibrant character of Lat contributes towards a successful project. Location is also vital to ensure project success. Greentown was chosen due to its marketability and its very coveted location. Situated near to the Greentown Mall also adds points to this proposed site. Other than that, choosing a suitable design image and concept is also important as it determines how the overall design scheme would look like. To proposed design concept and image should interweave with each other in order to ensure project success. Learning upon the frame of Lat as the heart of the design concept, it is hoped that this project will succeed both in contributing towards the interior and cafe design arena.
