Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify the impacts of tourism development towards resident in Kampung Morten. It also help the researchers to determine whether local resident support on the tourism development. Thus, the objectives of this study are to evaluate tourism development impact of economic, socio-cultural and environment towards local residents in Kampung Morten, Melaka and to investigate the most impact that influence local resident of Kampung Morten to support for tourism development. This research used secondary and primary data in collecting the necessary data. The convenience sampling was used for the sampling techniques in this research where 80 of respondents had been chosen to answer the questionnaires specifically at Kampung Morten selected areas. In order to run the data, Statistical Package for Special Science (SPSS) 20.0 and which allows for the generation of percentages and descriptive statistics (i.e. mean scores and the standard deviation) to be analyzed. In the end of this result shows which impact most influence local resident in order to support and give the positive impact to the tourism development. From the finding, it is revealed that socio-cultural impact is the most significance factor that influence support from local residents toward tourism development surrounds Kampung Morten area which mean tourism not contributes social problem such as crime, drug use, prostitution and tourism also increase resident’s pride in the local culture for the community.
