Abstract
This study aims to develop a model of halal air cargo logistics regional hub that is be beneficial to the stakeholders of both halal and air cargo industry in Malaysia. This study had taken another step in the halal supply chain as it was focused on the halal aspect of combination of the air cargo and logistic hubs as it is still a niche area in the conventional supply chain This research was based on data obtained from open-ended interviews with respondents who are from various industry which include Malaysia’s air cargo industry operators, manufacturers of halal products, freight forwarder who are aware of the halal logistics, respondent from government agency who works closely with in both air cargo and halal industry and also shariah advisor from an institute who renowned in the halal logistics field. Their opinions of halal air cargo logistics hub were recorded and the data was analysed to evaluate and determine the success factors of developing a model of halal air cargo logistics hub. This study’s framework serves as a guideline for air cargo industry stakeholders in order to develop the halal air cargo supply chain for a successful halal air cargo logistics hub. This framework could be incorporated into the conventional air cargo supply chain to ensure that halal integrity of the halal product.
