Abstract
Cakap Baik-Baik is a Malay phrase meaning saying good things. It was my third exhibit of artwork. It is a good start because I love being an artist, but don’t have much time to spend and practice. This time, I bring my graphic design and communication experience to produce my artwork. Inspired by continuous line drawing and Memphis Style which is one of the most instantly recognisable design style. A self-imposed practice of creating digital artwork, I have expanded upon the themes and ideas generated to create Cakap Baik-Baik in the form of mouth is reciting dhikr which are phrases or prayers being recited repeatedly (Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah & Allahuakbar). Playing with pastel colors, organic shapes, and line drawing, this artwork experiencing the feel of fresh in the new look of Islamic contemporary art. I’m using continuous line drawing to visualize the mouth as we know that the mouth is continuously speaking all the time. Between the lips we can see 3 words of dhikr written in Bahasa Melayu using handwriting style. It shows as if the mouth is reciting the dhikr.
