Abstract
The latest government policy to implement smart schools nationwide has inevitably provoked a mixed reaction from teachers. Many teachers dismissed the idea as ridiculous and were sceptical about its success. However, there are some who support the idea. They believe that the nation's education system is progressing by transforming itself radically from the traditional paradigm of acquiring knowledge and memorising facts to fostering critical thinking and creativity through the deployment of new teaching methods and multimedia technology. Others prefer to take a 'wait and see stance.
