A study of the factor of waterproofing failure in building that locate in Ipoh, Perak Darul Redzuan / Mohamad Zul Amjad Md. Zulkifli

Leaking of water can occur on building and it is one of the major problem that can affect the condition of it. Water came from outside and inside the building on its own. When the water exist it can flow and spread into certain areas in the building cause the leaking problem in the building. The leaking need to be analyzed early before it become serious problem. The purpose of this research is a study of the factor of waterproofing failure in a certain building is selected in Ipoh. Three selected contractor of specialist about waterproofing had been chosen for getting a case study building. After a study and an interview had been conducted with the contractor the few causes can be analyse for the leaking problem due to waterproofing failure in a building. From the interview several causes of leaking can be detected. Therefore, immediate action and attention must be given by authorised bodies in the industry to overcome the problem. The government must take part to observe the construction of building in Malaysia to make sure the leaking problem can be minimize.
