Mohd Ali, Siti Norizan (2004) A case study of pull out characteristics of soil nails along Jalan Baru from Gap to Fraser Hill, Pahang / Siti Norizan Mohd Ali. [Student Project] (Unpublished)

Abstract

There are 33 locations of slope failure along Jalan Baru from Gap to Fraser Hill, Pahang Darul Makmur. To stabilize the slope failure, soil nailing was used and the pull out test of soil nailing was carried out. Although, there are 33 locations of slope failure, but only 31 locations are selected in this study. These locations were chosen from Phase I and Phase II of the project. At each location of soil-nailed wall, one pull out test was carried out. Jabatan Kerja Raya Malaysia has carried out the soil investigation and the soil stabilization method using soil nail was selected to avoid any unpredictable tragedy. This study was carried out using available pull out test results on soil nail provided by JKR. The maximum pull out load tests was 90 kN. The main purpose of this study is to find the characteristics of the pull out that were carried out at several locations in this project. It is concerning the soil nail interaction and the basic concept of tensile test.
