Abstract
Culture is an abstract space of physical attributes, cultural and creating the perception of a social phenomenon and the meaning. However, the cultural space in the historic city of Malaysia who are facing changes that led to placing decrease and place less ness. Thus, this paper discusses the role of the cultural space that marked the historic town's identity from Kuala Dungun and Taiping. A case study method is done by involving the observation site and questionnaire survey to collect citizens cultural experience. The results showed that the cultural space resulting from routine activities, socio-cultural and economic vitality contribute to the identity of historic cities. © 2013 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
