Abstract
The problem of abandoned houses is a problem that stems from the original users of the house and the unsupervised condition of the house. This problem arose since living in Sungai Petani for a long time, which is called a 'Liveable' place. This also made the probability of an abandoned house going to happen in large quantities. Overall, this abandoned house is defined as an uninhabitable house and is a serious problem that needs immediate action. In Malaysia, this problem will always be experienced by major cities such as Kuala Lumpur, George Town, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu and other cities in Malaysia. In Kedah, the problem of abandoned houses is faced by 2 main cities, namely Alor Setar & Sungai Petani. If viewed from the aspect of the type of housing that suffers from the problem of dilapidated houses is the type of low cost house, in fact there is also the type of lace medium cost house. This is also because, the quantity of houses is too much so that the placement of the house is too deep. Therefore, the increase in these types of low and medium low cost houses has affected housing and development in Sungai Petani, Kedah. This, too, can cause the problem of abandoned houses in some housing estates. This phenomenon in turn disturbs also nearby neighbourhoods with abandoned houses and houses that look dilapidated and uninhabite
