Abstract

Disable people is defined as stated in Building Regulation are people with a physical impairment that limit their ability to walk or makes them dependent on a wheelchair for mobility or impaired sight or hearing. As registered in the Malaysia Society Welfare Department, there are 220,250 individuals who are considered as person with disabilities until 30 Jun 2008. This study objective is to determine disable regulations, to compare the regulation of disable people with facilities provided in government building and to determine the awareness of public toward disable facilities in Government Building by questionnaire method. Primary data in this study been collected by questionnaire, interview, observation and case studies and secondary data been collected from books, newspaper, magazines, journals and internet findings. The major finding, conclusion and recommendation also discussed in Chapter 5. Hopefully, this study will be as guideline to municipal council to design the facilities for disable person and to improve public awareness and alert toward this facilities.
