Construction industry is undoubtedly plays a significant role in the development process of a country. However, statistics have shown that construction industry is one of the most dangerous fields due to the fatality rates. The main cause of accident is due to poor performance of the workers from a combination of contributing causes. In order to improve the safety performance, the important factors that influencing safety performances are need to be investigated. The aim of this research is to identify the important factor influencing safety performance on construction sites in the state of Perak from the perspective at G6 and G7 contractors. Data were obtained through questionnaires survey targeted for G6 and G7 contractors in Kinta, Perak. The result indicates that all the fifteen factors identified from the literature influenced the safety performance in Perak's construction sites. The most significant factors that affect safety performance were attitude and behaviour, safety inspection, safety regulations, communication system, organization culture, safety meetings, record and reports and incentives. The outcome from this study may assist contractors to reduce economic loss, expenses and loss of life and increase project performance and profitability.
