Hexamax Fruits Sdn. Bhd.

This report summarizes my 24-week internship at Hexamax Fruits Sdn. Bhd. in Muar, Johor, from August 2025 to January 2026. As an Assistant in the Administration and Accounting department, I gained hands-on experience in office management and basic accounting within the premium durian export industry. Hexamax Fruits specializes in processing varieties durian like Musang King and Black Thom using modem cryogenic freezing technology for markets including China, Singapore, the UK, and Korea. In administration, I managed office records, handled data entry for sales and purchases, and prepared official documents like memos and monthly reports, while in accounting, I assisted with Accounts Payable and Receivable (APAR) tracked customer and supplier payments and managed company petty cash flow. Not only that, but a significant part of my training also involved organizing documentation for Halal, GMP and FLACCP certifications, which are essential for meeting international export standards. I also represented the company at an international trade exhibition at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur. This report includes a SWOT analysis identifying strengths in high-tech processing but challenges in seasonal dependency and high utility costs. To address these, I recommended implementing semi-automated tools, integrating IoT sensors, diversifying into secondary products like durian powder and snacks to stabilize year-round income and adopting solar- hybrid cooling systems to save energy. Overall, this internship significantly enhanced my professional skills in communication, teamwork, and technical administration. It provided a strong foundation for my career, fostering independence and a deep understanding of the global durian export market.
