Abstract
As what we have been told, the use of Jawi has started for a long time ever since the previous era and has become the identity of the Malay community in Malaya. Long time ago, Jawi was usually used in various fields, especially in official documents such as Hukum Kanun Melaka dan declaration of Malaya’s Independence in 1957. This shows how useful Jawi was during that time. However, today’s Jawi has not been used a lot and can be said it has slowly faded away. On that matter, we got an idea on ways to nurture the use of Jawi in today’s generation. The purpose of this product, ‘Scrabble Jawi’ being created is because there are several students that are still less proficient in Jawi. This is due to the usage of Jawi in Pendidikan Islam textbook nowadays which makes students who are still less proficient in Jawi left behind because they find it difficult to read and develop a better understanding. Some of the objectives of this ‘Scrabble Jawi’ is to help students deepen their Jawi proficiency and give encouragement to students to sustain the use of Jawi until the next generation. Besides that, to increase students' intelligence as well as train student’s skills in reading and writing using Jawi especially in Islamic Education’s subject. Furthermore, applying and elevating the use of Jawi in daily life. This product only uses materials that are easy to find such as board and colour papers. The affordable price also proves that this product is open and suitable to anyone. In short, this product has many advantages like attracting students’ interests in learning Jawi, encouraging two-way interaction between teacher and students and helping in increasing Jawi proficiency level which is increasingly worrying nowadays. Therefore, with the creation of this product, students are able to show their interest towards Jawi.
