PARKROYAL A’Famosa Melaka Resort

This report provides a comprehensive overview of my six-month internship experience at PARKROYAL A’Famosa Melaka Resort, specifically in the Finance Department, conducted from March 3, 2025, to August 15, 2025, as part of the final-year requirement for the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons.) Finance program at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Bandaraya Melaka campus. The main objectives of this industrial training were to gain practical exposure to financial operations in the hospitality industry, enhance technical and soft skills, and apply academic knowledge in a real-world setting. During the internship, I was entrusted with various finance- related responsibilities such as daily credit card reconciliation, income auditing, accounts payable processes, cashier settlement, float inspections, and other related tasks. These duties were performed under professional supervision, allowing me to understand standard procedures, internal controls, and reporting practices within the Finance Department. To further evaluate the department’s performance and environment, a SWOT analysis was conducted to identify internal strengths and weaknesses, as well as external opportunities and threats affecting operations. Throughout the training, I experienced significant personal and professional growth. I developed stronger communication and time management skills, improved accuracy in handling financial records, and became more confident in adapting to dynamic work environments. Regular collaboration with team members also helped me cultivate a detail-oriented and solution-driven mindset. This internship has been a valuable stepping stone between academic studies and the working world. The knowledge and experience gained throughout this period have provided a solid foundation for my future career in the accounting and finance field.
