Abstract

This study investigated the relationship between personality dimensions and leadership style in Kemajuan Johor Tenggara (KEJORA) Kota Tinggi Johor. A good research design will ensure that the research project is conducted effectively and efficiently. In this study, from P=90 persons, a set of questionnaires had been distributed to only 76 persons (N) respondents among managers and professional groups in all departments in KEJORA. All the data also has been collected from company’s official website, journals and other related books. Through various instruments to analyze the data, it shows that the reliability of this research is good due to Cronbach’s Alpha value which is 0.778 where N items is 33 are reliable to ask to the respondent. Moreover, the result shows that there are positive relationship between each of the personality traits and leadership style. However, openness to experience, conscientiousness and agreeableness are the traits that have significant relationship toward transformational leadership style. In backward regression analysis, it proved that openness to experience and conscientiousness are the main predictor for transformational leadership style while in transactional leadership style is influenced by openness to experience traits only.
