Abstract

High-rise buildings are ordinary in contemporary cities and towns because of the significant amount of space they conserve. More attention must be paid to the issues of worker health and safety in the construction industry as a direct result of the growing number of high-rise buildings in this country. Safety and health are multidisciplinary fields concerned with the health, safety, and well-being of people who work in each profession or industry. Therefore, the research aims to improve the level of implementation of safety and health management for high-rise building projects. To achieve the research aim, the objectives are to identify the practice safety and health management system for high-rise building projects and investigate the safety and health requirements in high-rise building projects. The research methodology used in this study was the quantitative method using a questionnaire survey. The respondents of this research are contractor companies Grade 7 (G7) involved in high-rise building projects at Klang Valley. Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) version 28.0 was used to analyse the data obtained via a questionnaire survey. Five (5) practices in the safety and health management system for a high-rise contribute to the implementation of safety and health.
