Factors affecting overhang of apartments among first home buyers in Petaling, Selangor

In this academic project research, factors affecting overhang of apartments among first homebuyers in Petaling, Selangor have been investigated. Malaysia development and town planning might not have ideas how the current condition of property overhang in Malaysia, especially in district of Petaling, Selangor. Therefore, this research is conducted as to investigate the conditions of property market on overhang of apartments among first home buyers. Four main factors have been identified from the literature search. The researcher adopted quantitative approach in which a set of questions that consists 12 items excluding socio-demographic has been distributed using online survey. The researcher’s attempt to investigate factors affecting overhang of apartments among first home buyers in Petaling, Selangor is based on the property market analysis and the data population in Petaling where it shows the highest among others districts. This research has gathered 182 responses, making it an acceptable sampling size. Descriptive statistics were used in the data analysis process to obtain the results from the people who stayed in district of Petaling during the online questionnaire survey. Majority of the respondents agreed with the factors listed by the researchers. The survey has observed that the most popular factors that repondents concerns is regarding housing loan because the governments set the rules and requirements that the home buyers need to follow before apply the loans.
