Abstract
Organizations normally view employee retention as an essential aspect of human resource management (HRM). Besides, employee retention has become a main concern for corporate in the present scenario. Employee retention is the capability of an organization to retain its employees to stay in an organization for a longer period of time. Employee retention is needed to promote organizational culture, providing uninterrupted services, and expanding a business. Apart from that, employee retention is very important nowadays when the hiring a new employee is not an easy process because recruiting the right applicant can be a time consuming progress. Furthermore, when an individual walk out from his present organization, it is more likely that he would join the competitors. Based on the previous research done, there are many factors that influencing employee retention. There for, the aims of this study are to identify the driving factors of employee retention in Johor Corporation, Johor. This study also has been conducted within Johor Corporation and it involves 100 respondents from different departments. Furthermore, the study shows whether there is a significant relationship between employee retention with the three factor which is organization climate, job satisfaction and learning and career development opportunities. After all of the data gathered has been categorized as reliable to the research with the prove of Chronbach’s Alpha that was equal to 0.829 which is closer to 1.0. There for, the questions that were included in the questionnaire can be considered as good and reliable questions. The study finds that employee retention is positively correlated with organization climate, job satisfaction and career development opportunities. Career development opportunities are identified as the most influential factors of the employee retention.
