Abstract

Industrialized Building System (IBS) is one of the construction methods that uses prefabricated systems where the structure is being produced off-site and will be erected on-site with the help of plants and machinery. As advanced and easy as it sounds, there are a lot of factors that influenced the degree of implementation of IBS which also contribute to the hesitation of construction industry players to implement IBS in their construction method. The reasons came from various factors such as financial issues and the lack of knowledge regarding the system. Even though it has been decades since IBS was introduced, it seems like all the issues that had been laid out from past research still cannot be solved. That is why this study mainly focused on the constraint in the implementation of IBS. The objective of this study is to identify the constraint in implementing IBS and to identify the potential solutions on the constraint of the IBS project. The research methodology used to carry out this study is the quantitative methods by distributing the questionnaire to Contractor's company from Grade 1 (G1) to Grade 7 (G7) in Kuala Langat, Selangor.
