Abstract
Nowadays, the tourism sector is growing with heritage buildings in Malaysia. It gives economic growth and the conservation and preservation construction industry as the essential method growing every day. The heritage buildings are one of the most important cultural buildings as they demonstrate the architecture and are visited most of all people around the world. Disabled people also visit it as they are eager to enjoy its culture. The attraction element is vital to increase the number of visitors where the best facilities provided will attract more. However, some heritage buildings are not emphasized and aware regarding the facilities that need to be provided for disabled people. Therefore, lack of facilities will arise some problems and issues related to the heritage buildings. This study aims to suggest the improvement to the facilities of the disabled people when accessing the heritage building. This study aims to determine the facilities provided outside the heritage building for disabled people, identify obstacles that disabled people face when entering heritage buildings, and propose an improvement on facilities for disabled people to access heritage buildings. This dissertation is mainly focused on the facilities provided outside of heritage buildings. The method used in this research is a qualitative method through observation and semi-structured interviews.
