Abstract
In 2003, the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) reported that cancer constituted 9.34% of all deaths in Malaysia, a notable increase from 7.37% in 1975. According to the findings from the First Report of the National Cancer Registry, the risk of developing cancer in Malaysia is estimated at 1 in 4. Consequently, the establishment of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) is anticipated to cater to the needs of cancer patients in the country. The construction project of the National Cancer Institute has long been awaited and signifies the government's commitment to provide top-notch healthcare, aligning with the vision of 2020 to transform Malaysia into a developed nation. The National Cancer Institute, designed as a specialized medical facility, will offer advanced treatment and medication facilities tailored for cancer patients, addressing the growing concerns related to cancer issues in the nation.
