Abstract
A science innovation-themed program was held from 14 to 16 March 2019 at Sekolah Menengah Sains Tuanku Jaafar, Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan. Persatuan Teknologi Makanan (PERTEMA) of Faculty of Applied Sciences, UiTM Shah Alam joined forces with Food Technology Society (FTS), Kelab Sahabat and Kelab PROSIS of UiTM Kuala Pilah. The programme aimed to disseminate knowledge on food science and technology to students and local communities and to encourage students to be creative and innovative in solving problems. The program was opened to schools and local communities. Several activities were conducted including "Classes for Food Wonders" by PERTEMA where knowledge on food science was related to biology, physics, chemistry and mathematics. Other activities such as "FoodRush Explorace" was also held which involved 10 groups of students. There was also "Lab Tunnel" activity which was an interesting mimic of a tunnel with food science experiments exhibition handled by facilitators of the program to demonstrate the application of food science in our daily lives through fun hands-on activities. The activities were conducted at the school's Biology Lab. "Fooditional Games" was also held which was a fusion of food and traditional Malaysian games such as "Bowling Kelapa" and "Colek Lidi". School teachers and staffs were also joined in the fun with "Swicy Saucy" and "Meatilicious" workshops presented by Dr. Siti Roha Ab Mutalib and Dr. Fadhilah Lamun Jailani whereby the production of pineapple sauce and meatballs was demonstrated.
