Abstract

In order to fulfil the final requirement of my Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, I had the opportunity to undergo my industrial training at FGV Fertiliser Sdn. Bhd.. This industrial training report highlights my 24 weeks from 3 March to 15 August 2025 of internship experience at FGV Fertiliser Sdn. Bhd.. FGV Fertiliser Sdn Bhd is a subsidiary of FGV Holdings Berhad which specializes in the production, marketing and distribution of high quality fertiliser products for the agricultural sector. FGV Fertiliser also plays a crucial role in supporting sustainable agriculture and plantation productivity in Malaysia. Throughout my internship, I was placed under the Human Resources and Administration Department where I have been exposed to various office operations and administrative tasks. During my internship, my main responsibilities included assisting in daily office routines, supporting the planning and execution of employee training sessions, helping with internal and external meetings and being involved in organizing company events. The objective of my internship report is to assess the organization's current position by identifying its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT). This assessment includes FGV Fertiliser's strong manufacturing capacity and their decades of experience in the industry, contrast by limitations in product variety and accessibility for the noncorporate customers. Thus, the company is well-positioned to take advantage of the government support on agriculture, also the rise of urban farming in Malaysia while at the same time facing global supply disruption and increasing market competition. Hence, this report also suggests that FGV Fertiliser should produce more types of fertilisers for other crops besides oil palm, create smaller packaging suitable for individual farmers, and work together with agricultural organisations in order to improve product development. This is because taking action on these suggestions is important to help the company stay competitive in a fast-changing industry.
