Abstract
This study investigates the relationship between depression, anxiety, and stress and turnover intention among hotel employees in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. A quantitative approach was employed, with 150 employees completing a structured questionnaire incorporating the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21) and turnover intention items. Reliability analysis confirmed acceptable internal consistency for all scales. Multiple regression results indicated that depression significantly predicted turnover intention (B = 0.258, p = 0.025), while anxiety and stress were not significant predictors, and overall, the model was statistically significant (F = 5.084, p = 0.002). These findings emphasise the critical role of depression in employee retention, suggesting that hotel organizations should implement mental health support and proactive interventions to reduce turnover and enhance workforce well-being and organisational performance.
