Abstract

The purpose of this study conducted is to examine the relationship between employability skills perceived by graduating students and employability. The population of this study consists of 594 of graduating students from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM). Total number of questionnaire distributed is two hundred and thirty four (234) to obtain relevant information needed for this study. The sample was obtained by using the Simple Random Sampling Technique in which gathering of information from the practical unit for research purposes. The variables from work related factors that communication skills, leadership skills, problem solving skills and interpersonal skills are chosen as independent variables. This study is conducted within the time frame of February 2017 to June 2017. Based on the result from this study, it shown that only interpersonal skills that have significant relationship towards the graduates employability. The result of this study recommends that universities or education institutions should develop a plan on enhancing the employability skills towards the students especially the graduating students before they entered their internship program and to make sure the graduates be marketable in working sector. Besides for future research, researcher suggests that other variables can be add in this study to increase the R-square of this study.
