Abstract
This cross-sectional study was conducted to determine the effect of workplace environmental factors on stress levels among workers at the Marang District Health Office and to identify the relationship between lighting, temperature and workspace congestion with stress experienced by employees. Mainly finance unit and administration unit. The sample was a total of 14 people from the finance unit and 28 people from the administration unit were selected using simple random sampling. The selection of this sample is based on staff working in the office for 8 hours a day. Measurement of lighting level, temperature and workspace congestion as well as the use of DASS 21 questionnaire was conducted during the data collection process in this study. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS software (Statistical Package for Social Science) version 22 to obtain the results of the study in the form of frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Pearson correlation. The findings of the study show that 83.33 percent of staff in the Marang Health Office experience stress at a normal level. The findings also show that there is no relationship between lighting, temperature and workplace congestion that is experiencing stress among staff of the finance unit and administration unit, Marang District Health Office. Pearson correlation test further reinforces this statement that there is no significant relationship between the environmental factors studied with stress problems because the p value obtained exceeds the alpha value of 0.05.
