Abstract
A significant cause of radioactive waste is in the region of Southeast Asian countries because there is rising concern in economic development and the application of radioactivity. The utilization of nuclear power generation systems in the region has led to uncontrolled release of radioactive ions. This is because there is the lack of teamwork integration of regional operations with sub-regional institutions, and lack of popular knowledge on the regional economic, technological as well as the regulatory systems. Harmful consequences have been associated with low-level waste (LLW), intermediate-level waste (ILW) and high-level waste (HLW) on many industrial, medical and scientific activities. The organizational evaluation of operational radioactive practices among nations in the Southeast Asian region has however not witnessed a comprehensive approach to effective radioactive waste management under a optimizing regulatory coordination, technical means and collaboration. These issues will be discussed in the mentioned above study and the principles for efficient waste treatment, transportation, storage and disposal methods will be introduced. Besides the foregoing, it also calls for increased measures, collaboration with other alliances, and key utilization in protecting the health of the public and environment.
