The awareness of contractor’s G7 towards Industrialised Building System (IBS) in the construction industry in Kota Bharu, Kelantan

The use of Industrialised Building System (IBS) is still said to be lacking in the construction industry for contractor's G7 in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. This may happen due to many factors such as awareness, issues and strategic plan that occur in the construction industry. This can also cause the rate of use and knowledge about Industrialised Building System (IBS) is precarious, where it also causes lack of disclosure, lack of structure information and lack of standardization of modular coordination due to lack of awareness about IBS. Issues that started to arise were also due to lack of expertise, lack of incentive and promotion and lack of support for maintainability among the contractor's G7 in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. However, the strategic plan provided can help to increase knowledge about Industrialised Building System (IBS) to ensure optimal and continuous performance, the incentives of IBS and the IBS policy and regulation. The research objectives are to identify the contractor’s G7 awareness of Industrialised Building System (IBS) in the construction industry in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, to determine the contractor’s G7 issues in managing the construction phase of Industrialised Building System (IBS) in Kota Bharu Kelantan and to analyse strategic plan of the Industrialised Building System (IBS) usage among contractor’s G7 in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Online questionnaire was spread by using the Google Form to gain the data information. 86 questionnaires were distributed to the contractor’s G7 in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. It is to obtained the perspective from contractor’s G7 regarding the Industrialised Building System (IBS). The questionnaires consist of clear and easy questions regarding the awareness of the Industrialised Building System (IBS) in construction industry in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Also, the questionnaires were evaluated by using the Likert type score by the respondents. Then, the collected data were analysed and complete by using Statistical Package Software System (SPSS). The conclusion and recommendations are based on the findings results.
